Our family on the ground in Haiti is truly what makes Alex’s House possible. These individuals have devoted their lives to caring for the children God has entrusted to us, and spreading the light of Christ in Haiti.
Meet the family…
Bill Howard, Founder & President
Bill married his middle school sweetheart in 1981 and has been happily married for 34 years. Bill and Jennifer count the greatest joys of their life the privilege of walking with Jesus, and raising their three sons – all of whom are involved in the ministry of Alex’s House. Bill was a pastor for 25 years before having a “road to Damacus” call to go to Haiti and start an orphanage for homeless children. After 21 years of wonderful ministry as Sr. Pastor of Willow Ridge Church in Lexington, SC, the Lord called Bill to full time ministry in Haiti.

“Serving the children in Haiti has been the most challenging and fulfilling ministry of my life. I’ve given my life to raise up these children to be disciples of Jesus Christ. It is my honor to serve them.”
Steve and Vickie will join our staff full time on the ground in Haiti beginning in January 2016. They come to us from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky were Steve has been serving as the children’s pastor at Hope Community Church.
“Our prayer is that we will be completely obedient to God while we follow Him in Haiti. We look forward to the amazing God Stories that only He can write. It is exciting to think about what we will get to see Him do in us and others there!”

Jimmy serves as Director of Alex’s House. He has a great heart for the Lord and spends much of his time teaching the children and training them in the Gospel. His warm-hearted ways and easy humor make him feel like an old friend even to new acquaintances.
“Sa ke mwen pi renmen nan Alex’s House se timoun yo!”
“The thing I like most about Alex’s House is playing with the children!”
Frantz and Mireille serve as house parents in our Malachi boy’s cottage. They have two beautiful children, Daicassline and Brenkly. Mireille is special addition to the Alex’s House family, as she is Alex’s older sister. Frantz can be found playing soccer with the boys in the evenings while Mireille watches over the children from the porch as she crochets. When asked about her favorite memory of Alex, Mireille responded, “His PASSION…his passion for the street kids of Haiti. He had a desire to rescue them.” We are honored to have Alex’s family serving with us.
Pastor Dorcean joined our family in August of 2013 as campus pastor.
He is married to his wife Edna and they have three children – Jersey, Vander and a new baby girl named Edwodvanderlyn. Pastor leads a growing church in Lanzac. He brings a great level of discipleship to our children.
Alex’s House Stateside Staff
Jennifer Howard, Office Manager
Jennifer has been an elementary school teacher for the past 20 years and brings a wealth of love and encouragement to the children of Alex’s House. She serves as office manager and adds administrative support to our staff. Jennifer spends the summers and any other time she can at Alex’s House working and playing with the children. Back in the states, when she’s not busy at school or taking care of Alex’s House work, Jennifer can be found homemaking in South Carolina and enjoying yard work.
“I love seeing how God has worked through Bill to accomplish great things for Alex’s House and the surrounding community. Being at Alex’s House is always a pleasure. The children thrill my heart! Watching them learn and grow through the years has been heart warming. The Haitian people are so resilient and their passion for God is amazing.”
Monica Langdale, Sponsorship Director
Monica diligently oversees the Alex’s House sponsorship program. She does an excellent job of making sure each child has the sponsorship they need, and facilitates building relationships between sponsors and the children. Married to Ray, Monica is a doting aunt for 16 nieces and nephews. When she’s not working as a personal and group trainer, she enjoys working out and being outdoors.
“What I love most About Alex’s House is that God is at the center of it! We have missionaries who come nearly every week of year to share God’s love. And I LOVE the children.”
Beth Lawrence, Public Relations Director
Beth is passionate about connecting people with Alex’s House. She is a stay-at-home mom with two awesome bio kids, and two darling foster children. When she’s not tending to all the chicks in her nest, she can be found reading, writing or working on the Alex’s House website. Beth is married to Nathan, pastor of First Baptist Church Valley in Alabama.
“When Nathan returned from his first trip to Haiti, I knew our hearts were being knit to that incredible place. God is doing amazing things through Alex’s House to redeem the lives of orphans, train Haitian church leaders, and change the fabric of the surrounding community.”
